Day 1 - 001
Transiting in Taipei Airport, found out this interesting Thor Statue with Chinese characters as background.

Day 1 - 002
Arrived in Kansai Airport around 1030hrs. Thought it's a busy airport as Hongkong, but it's quiet and in order. Soon after I realized it's something related to local people's life and habits - Discipline.

Day 1 - 003
Taking a stroll down to Dotonbori after store our luggages at the front desk of Hotel. Lotsa restaurants, where should I get started, Raman!!

Day 1 - 004
Done with my lunch, walking around the Dotonbori area, many lanes at side roads, feels like walking down the old times of The city.

Day 1 - 005
Unintentionally found this hidden Fudou Myouou Statue in Houzenji Lane.

Day 1 - 006
Decided to go to Minoo Park, the North side of Osaka.

Day 1 - 007
Meandering through the zigzag road towards the depths of Minoo Park. Occasionally we could hear the murmuring of running steam or powerful sound overwhelming the silent Park or it's more like a mountain than a park. Eventually, Indeed, Minoo waterfall overtakes!

Day 1 - 008
After exhausted ourselves for taking a hike to Minoo Park, got back to Minoo Station, the small "Kashiya" next to the station draws my attention. Could be my first Japanese Dessert experience, we chose the left small box of kashi on the table, as it looks really tasty and delicate to me, plus impressed by how Japanese servicing customers, amiable auntie fixed a cups of Black Bean Tea with a small portion of cake, which is not included the kashi we bought, not merely we bought just one box of cake so as not to cold-shoulder us. The tea warmed our hands, the kashi warmed our hearts!

Day 1 - 009
After grabbed our dinner, we got back to Houzenji Lane, don't know why I have special preference to this line. Perhaps, it has old charm to me. I love lanterns when the night falls. Lanes were decorated perfected by lanterns. Quiet and secluded with mild footsteps make the lane not so dull.

A trudging day kicks off. The sun rises so early as 6am.Rise and Shine! We planed to drop by Sumiyoshi Daishi on the first day of arrival, however gave up after been through the red-eye flight and lug around my luggage with weary body, it's not a good idea. When we get out of train station, the Sumiyoshi Daisha and Park are not far, hence take a stroll to the park, unexpectedly, I never saw such many Sakura trees in the park, swaying her graceful figure.

Day 2 - 002 - Osaka
Art of Manhole Cover, on the way to Sumiyoshi Daisha, we discovered various kinds of manhole Covers, as they are endowed with life, more like a piece of artwork. Even it's more delightful and pleasant to pass them by, we often might stop for a while and can't help appreciating and wondering why it appears here. It might tell you the history of the image on it, or a reminder to you the famous scenic spot is nearby.

Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine, one of the oldest shrines in Japan. And Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine in Osaka is the main and the most famous shrine over 2000 years Sumiyoshi Shrines across in Japan. The Shinto Gods in Sumiyoshi Shrine protects travelers, fishermen and sailors at sea, that's why they are usually found close to harbors.

Day 2 - 004 - Osaka
Left from Sumiyoshi Taisha, the street looks lonely and bleak without the hustle and bustle. The Sakura branches stretch out to the street. It's like " Spring is unveiled, flowers present their beauty and charm”. Sakura is suitable to bloom in the silent street, which make walking people stop by and enjoy seeing the Sakura and experience the good memories of life. You will never encounter such scenery in the downtown, perhaps, the people are too busy to enjoy.

Day 2 - 005 - Osaka
Since left from Sumiyoshi Taisha, we were heading to the nearest temple - Shitennoji, we took the Tanimachi-Sen Line to Shitennoji-Mae Yuhigaoka Station, 5 mins walk to the oldest Buddhist Temple with more than 1,400 years history. Which is from Garan style of ancient China architecture. The Garan consists of a 5-storey pagoda, a main Golden Pavillion in the memory of Prince Shotoku who promoted Buddhism into Japan, a Kodo (Lecture Hall) behind I merely saw visitors coming to pray, it's dark and silent inside, the image of Buddha's mercy appears vivid standing inside the hall, the above 3 buildings are under a cover corridor holding the 3 gates. They are all form into one line, which is the typical Garan architecture style in old China. Although the temple's buildings were burned down several times throughout the centuries, they were always reconstructed to reflect the Asuka Times design.

Day 2 - 007 - Osaka
If you wish to get yourself back to ancient Osaka, it's worth dropping by “Osaka Museum of Housing and Living"at Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome Station. The museum consists of 2 storeys. The 1st museum themed with daily life in Osaka, you may travel back "Edo" period (1830 ~ 1844). The hall is not so big but real. The lights vary with the times of the day. The cloth shop, building materials shop, foreign goods shop, toy and doll shop and residents house lying on the street, the scene radiates a hint of nostalgia of "Edo" Period in Osaka, as you feel like you are in that time.

After experienced life in Edo period of Osaka, we think it's no more to see in this "Osaka Museum of Housing and Living", we took the escalator and went to one storey down, what came to our sight is really an eye-opener. It's "The Miniature Osaka", the museum of miniature of Osaka models how osaka change over the centuries. Although we only can see the superficial changes via architectures, it is convincing. However, I'm more interested in how life change over hundreds of years in Osaka.

Day 2 - 010 - Osaka
Right before sundown, we reached the Osaka Castle without resting our feet. The Osaka Castle was built in the 16th Century when it was ruled by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, whose year was ended up with battled with Tokugawa Ieyasu. The Osaka Castle ever suffered from fire during the battles, nowadays it still looks as it did originally after renovation over years. Osaka Castle, Nagoya Castle and Kumamoto Castle are renowned 3 castles in Japan. The Osaka Castle is protected by the moat, we walked along the moat, which is surrounded by greens and Sakura trees. It's stunning and full of poetic. We moved into Nishinomaru Garden, the road brought us into a even more beautiful place. Hundreds of Sakura trees showed off its blossom, the Osaka Castle is grandly and magnificently defined against surroundings, looks near but out of reach. It is pity we missed the chance to enter the Osaka Castle, perhaps it is good to come back here again during Momiji Season.

As evening approached, the Nishinomaru Garden in Osaka Castle at night was emerged a different scenery. Though it's spring, the air still cold and chilly. The Sakura decorated by lights appeared to be dreamlike. Under the trees, people sat on the ground and enjoyed drinking over the talks with good friends, as such it represented a frozen moment of pleasant and delightful scene.

Day 3 - 001 - Kobe
We didn't spend much time on walking around and visiting places in Osaka. As planned to head to Kobe City, the most important thing we would do in Kobe, I bet most of people know. We arrived in Sannomiya Station - the Gateway of Kobe. I have strong feel for Kobe because of Kobe Earthquake in 1995, although I had ever experienced earthquake somewhere before, my heart is still in great fear. If you wish to take a look at typical places, it couldn't be better to take City Look Link. Since we only squeezed out half day for Kobe Trip, eventually we got back our hotel in Osaka after 7pm, as there are really a lot of places to go in Kobe. As heard a lot about exotic "Kitano Ijinkangai", Kobe, a Habour City, was swarmed by a large of foreigners in the 19th Century, so that you can see there are many buildings of European Architectural Style. Kazamidori No Yataka is particularly outstanding among them.

Day 3 - 002 - Kobe
On the way to Kitano Ijinkangai, we stopped at Kobe Kitano Tenman Shrine. During this trip, we missed out on chances to visit Tenmangu in Osaka and Kyoto, luckily we could visit this little Kitano Tenman Shrine as consolation. "Sugawara Michizane" worship in Japan as " The Knowledge of God". As long as there is statue of cattle, you might try to touch it which will bring lots of luck with your studies. Otherwise, Love is always the major matter in Japan. Naturally, people praying for conjugal felicity becomes typical in various shrines in Japan.

Day 3 - 003 - Kobe
It's about time to get some grabs, since we are here in Kobe. As everyone knows, the Kobe Beef is well-known in the world. We had heard about it since many years ago, "Tasting is believing". The "Tajima Cow" grown up in Hyogo Prefecture is the only raw material from Kobe beef. The Tajima Cow maintains high-blooded ever since Edo Period (1603-1867), as "Kobe Beef Marketing and Distribution Promotion Association" was found in 1983, which set the standard for Kobe Beef. If you wish to eat authentic Kobe Beef, there is a must to see if the restaurant is authorized by " Kobe Beef Marketing and Distribution Association". We found out one Kobe Beef restaurant called "Ishidaya" where it is located not far from the Sannomiya Station in Kobe. It is quiet and elegant place and not many diners. The Chef demonstrated us who he cooked Kobe Beef, it's really torturous to make famished us to feast our eyes on it.

Day 3 - 005 - Kobe
Back and stopover for a couple hours in Sannomiya, we are heading to other places in Kobe. They are Arima Onsen and Mt. Rokko. As old saying "Whoever has never been to Japan is not having onsen." Arima Onsen Town sets in Kobe City, near to Mt. Rokko. Various Onsen Ryokans in the Arima town. There are also renowned onsens for tourists only. The most famous and well-known onsens in Arima town are "Kinnoyu"and "Ginnoyu". Onsens are rich in mineral materials, which are good for skin disease, muscle and joint pains. Take a bath in Arima Onsen, relax my body and feet, afterwards, it's so challenging to go hiking to Mt.Rokko.

Day 3 - 006 - Kobe
On the way up to Mt.Rokko, we reached to Arima Onsen Cable car station, we took the cable car and came to Mt.Rokko (931m), the whole Kobe harbor view is full in sight from top of the Mount. The sunset is spectacular when it is viewed from here. There are lush green trees in the botanic garden, pleasant music box museum, the 1st golf field in Japan and Terrace Garden, etc. as time is limited, we had to move on back to Osaka, but my mind was still lost in the scenery of Kobe.

Day 3 - 007 - Kobe
Kobe trip ended with taking the cable train down to downtown of Kobe, I always felt taking the time machine when the cable train went in or came out from the tunnel. The carriage is ladder-like design, there is only one track for the cable train, the trains simultaneously depart and pass by each other. Overall, we had experienced different kinds of means of transportation, such as bus, train, cable car and cable train. Guess we shall call it Kobe One Day Transportation Tour. Sadly, we didn't have time to enjoy "Ten Million Dollar Night View" in Kobe but to rush back to Osaka.

Our short trip to Kobe had come to an end though we didn't fully enjoy ourselves. We returned to Osaka around dinner time and about time to console my stomach. Afterwards, it seemed like we missed something in Osaka in our plan. We realized we hadn't visited Glico man, the classic landmark in Osaka. It turned out to be in the proximity to Dotonbori area, just a few streets away from Namba. Glico Man neon sign stationed here since 1919, perhaps many of us don't know why it's so popular and livening up the bustling Dotonbori,we became suddenly enlightened that the famous "Pocky" cookie coming from Glico !

Speaking of eating, Osaka could be food paradise for greedy foodies. "Takoyaki" is the most outstanding snack in Osaka, you will not miss it if you see long queuing any food stands. There is also well-known Osaka Ohsho Gyoza in Osaka, which is called dry-fried dumplings, almost all the Osaka people had eaten this Gyoza, nowadays more and more becoming to one of typical local food. How could forget about "Kanidoraku Crab" with eye-catching sign, it's easily tempting your appetite. You may enjoy different types cooking of crabs here.
Across the Houzenji Lane, you will see the somewhat evil-faced mascot of Osaka Tsutenkaku - Billiken. It's more like a snack restaurant than a dinner place. But food is interesting and nice, if you ever have a chance to travel in Osaka, you are very lucky enough!

We walked and stopped at Dotonbori on out last night in Osaka, the charming neon lights tempt young men and women in the bustling Dotonbori at night. After got busy with themselves for a whole day, they spent their rest of energy on indulging in feasting here. Lost in bustling, hypnotized by alcohol. One's reveling in his loneliness, a group of people lonelily revel.

The entire journey was half done, we left from Osaka and headed to Kyoto. Kyoto is the long-anticipating travel destination in our trip. I heard a lot about Kyoto (also called "Heiankyo") - the ancient capitals with a long history. The buildings in Kyoto were modeling themselves on ancient China's Luoyang and Changan (which two were capitals for several times in ancient China). We still can see many architectures of traditional Chinese style. It's fairly appropriate to describe this Kyoto Trip as "Tour of Architecture".

Arrived in Kyoto of Tang-oriented style and ancient charm, we walked out of Kyobashi train station and followed "Sakura Zen Sen"(Cherry Blossom Front - The Cherry Blossom Front tracks the bloom of Cherry Blossoms across the country, so you may plan your trip at the optimal time), while the blooming Cherry blossom in Kyoto was just way too perfect to be true. Clusters of Cherry Blossoms were blooming near the riverbank, The trees also were in luxuriantly green by the roadside. Spring was dotted with all good and beautiful scenery here that made us linger around and forgot to leave.

We kept our luggage in the hotel since check-in time is 1500hr onwards. It's good time we can take a walk around in Kyoto. If you want to experience the daily life of kyoto people, "Nishiki Market", located in between Takakura Dori and Teramachi Dori, is a must place to go. "Nishiki Market" has 400 years history and is also called "Kitchen of Kyoto", thus it can be seen its deeply rooted among people's life.

Around more than 130 shops are located in the long and narrow "Nishiki Market", various local food materials shops line on the street sides. You can be so close to feel the local food culture right here. It gathers different kind of food, such as sea food, cooked food, wild vegetables, Japanese condiments, Japanese pickles, dried food and so on. As to foodies, you can taste as you walk along the street.

Day 4 - 005 - Kyoto
We found out there is a "Nishiki Tenmangu" in the "Nishiki Market" street, however the name of "Nishiki Market" came from " Nishiki Tenmangu". We ever visited Tenman Shrine in Kobe city, it's for same purpose that people praying for bring lucks to their studies here. Here in Kyoto, it's so rare to see so common little shrine hidden in the bustling market.

It was almost dusk when we arrived at the Nijo Castle. The visitors came out one after another since the Nijo Castle will be closed for a few hours and was prepared for visiting at night. Hence we postponed our Sakura Night view in Nijo Castle to the next day. The small canal was surrounded by the stunning Sakura trees near the Nijo Castle. Standing on the bridge, we enjoyed viewing the flowing river and stretching Sakura tree branches. The scenery is way too beautiful than expected.

Day 4 - 007 - Kyoto
Since Nijo Castle was closed for daytime sightseeing, we changed our plan to visit Kyoto Imperial Palace. The Kyoto Imperial Palace is the former ruling palace of the Emperor of Japan. The emperor had resided at the Tokyo Imperial Palace since 1869, then after it became to the historical preservation and which is open for public on fixed days in Spring and Autumn. It is also one of the greatest places to viewing cherry blossom in Kyoto. Therefore we took a stroll around the surroundings of the Imperial Palace. If you walk outside of the rectangle Kyoto Imperial Palace, its best to check the direction or you will get lost.

Dusk was gone, we came to Gion area which was packed with visitors at nights. The Yasaka Shrine became extremely lively in the evening in Gion. Whether it's because of holiday celebration or daily event at night as usual, it's more like garden party inside the Yasaka Shrine. Either taking a walk or praying for lucks here, people were full of joy and excitement in this sleepless Yasaka Shrine.

Since we were here in Yasaka Shrine, one thing must do was viewing lanterns. The shrine was fully dotted with lanterns. At night, lanterns all lit up, bright lights of lanterns spread all over the shrine and made it so mysterious and turned back the time.

Yasaka Shrine sets in Gion area, Gion is famous for Maiko and Geisha and lanterns for Yasaka Shrine. Naturally, more or less there must be some connection between them. The lanterns with Geisha or Maiko's names on it were sponsored by their company. As to them, perhaps the lanterns are best wish to their bright future.

A Bite of "Lantern":
The Lantern is the perfect fusion of darkness and light. In such alternating warmth and coldness of early spring, lantern, as a token of warmth, gives human beings longing and yearning for light. Flickering candlelights whisper to soughing wind, in a brilliantly bright way, which welcomes to the God's arrival.

Yasaka Shrine at night was so charming and nostalgic, we moved through the crowds, something amazed us in the Maruyama Park where adjoins the Shrine. The over 200-year-old weeping Sakura tree stands tall and upright here, it appears to be a complete miracle. Under the Sakura trees, either a happy family, or a lovely couple, or a group of bosom friends, all were reveling in the joy and laughter.

The night of Kyoto belongs to Gion, however the night of Gion belongs to Maiko and Geisha. The Hanami Koji Street turned to be dim and appealing and Lanterns were dimly lit. The girl dressed in kimono was waiting for customer's visiting, through the paper window, we faintly caught a glimpse of Geishas who were busy with serving customers.

We went back and forth on this Hanamikoji Street. It was full of curiosity and imagination about Maiko and Geisha to tourists, our mind was into a sense of the movie of " Memoirs of a Geisha". Occasionally, we encountered reserved Maiko or Geisha came to her working place. She bent at the waist, made a bow, entered and closed the wooden door. The street got back to be peaceful again. The nearby Gion Kaburenjo Theater witnessed Maiko and Geisha's most glorious moment.

We started to go sightseeing in Arashiyama as our 2nd day trip in Kyoto. Arashiyama, located in the suburb of southwest of Kyoto, is famous for the gorgeous changing of four seasons scenery. Splendid Cherry Blossom in Spring, verdant trees in Summer, graceful red leaves in autumn and purely white snow in winter. As it was cherry blossom season, we somewhat felt tired of seeing Sakuras in the streets and lanes. But it become wide expanse after we reached Arashiyama. Mountain and water, flowers and trees were perfect combination and brought out the best part of landscape here.

Day 5 - 002 - Kyoto
Togetsukyo Bridge, also called Arashi Bridge, brought us across the Katsura River to Arashiyama (Mt. Arashi). Togetsukyo Bridge (literally named "Moon Crossing Bridge") derived its poetic name from Kameyama Tenno (the 90th Generation of Japanese Emperor), who saw the bright and full moon shining in the sky and composed the following Haiku: "As the full moon crossing the bridge". Over the years, the wooden surface of the bridge was replaced by concrete and lost its primitive simplicity. Only the wooden weather-beaten bridge board remained. The bridge was serene and busy all at the same time - with the river gushing under it, and the feet, rickshaws and cars hurrying across it. My feet were reluctant to move on, somehow expressing my desire to linger for just that little bit longer.

Walking along the Katsura River, we were surrounded by the sounds and colors of spring. The mountains rise and fall, the river coils through the valleys, and birds sing their spring songs in the lush forests. In that instant, we transcended reality into the perfection of an ink-brushed landscape painting.

We took the sideway towards Tenryuji Temple that branched off to a quiet and secluded path, this is another attraction place called "Bamboo Grove". In the narrow and mysterious bamboo grove, while the wind was passing by, bamboos shake their upright and graceful postures and rustled in the wind, as if it brought me into the scene of "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon".

We entered Tenryuji Temple, the path led us to a botanic garden in courtyard. Those various flowers and plants whether we heard or never heard before all gathered here. Even their names possess a very strong sense of pictures and poetry.
1.Bridal Wreath - literally called "Smiley-faced flower", even the flower is with so much emotion.
2.Magnolia - "Songbirds became rare in the valley, magnolia and apricot blossom withered away, Spring is fading away" in another poem, which conveys instinct sadness for the passing of good things.
3.Dogwood - As the old poem said "I'm a stranger in a remote land, on festival I doubly miss my folks, I know from a great distance that my brothers are climbing a mountain, left with a dogwood spraying in my hand," which messages us deep homesickness.
4.Fontanesia - also called "Hoary Willow", "Chilling River and Hoary Willow, Snowy-Jade Flower and Trees" which describes a scenery of northern country in Chinese poem.

I always have special thoughts and emotions to architectures with different cultures. As to different angles of architectures, I may have different perspectives. Though some people would like to climb up the atop a building for a grander sight. I would rather look up at a building, which appear to be magnificent and out of reach, make me appreciate more its courage of vying with heaven in stature.

In Mt.Arashi, the most unexpected is we caught Geisha.Geisha had already became the most typical traditional culture in Japan. They are called "Geisha" in Tokyo of Kanto area (east of the border), which is well-known in other countries. However, in Kansai (west of the border) they are called "Geiko" in Kyoto, where the cradle of "Geisha" is from. In the 17th century, since more and more prayers worshipped in Yasaka Shrine, consequently, shops and tea houses emerged as times needed, the waitresses would perform singing and dance to attract customers. Over the years, the waitresses had been trained to dance and sing in a systematic way, so as to cater for changing of customers' taste. The occupation of "Geiko" or ""Geisha" took shape eventually.

As long as there is "Kashiya" in Kyoto, definitely you will see an ultimate touch of green - Japanese Matcha Tea. As to Japanese Matcha, Uji Matcha is the tip-top among all the matcha. Matcha, originated from Sui dynasty, prospered in Tang dynasty, matured in Song dynasty, has more than one thousand years history. Matcha was imported by Tang ambassador, afterwards Japanese integrated drinking matcha tea into religion, philosophy, morality, character, cultivation and art, gradually became to the quintessence of Japanese culture. Take a sip of bitter and fresh matcha, have a bite of sweet and delicious cake, sweet after sweat, this is life.

The main hall followed the example of Shishinten from Kyoto Imperial Palace, which possessed the architectural style of Azuchi-Momotaya period. As it was prevailing to build temple than resort during that period of time, the pagoda from Garan style appeared to be here with no surprise.

Ninanji Temple is celebrated for the stunning Sakura. However, the Sakura here is called "Omuro Sakura"(Imperial Cherry Blossom). Ever since the year of 888 A.D, most of emperors took refuge in Buddhism after they abdicated the throne, the princes and princesses came to Ninanji Temple and became monks and nuns, that is the reason why Ninanji Temple was also called Imperial Place and Sakura became "Imperial Cheery Blossom", "Imperial Cherry Blossom" is late-blooming and always full blooming in the last ten days of April, if you miss the good chance to view the best time of Sakura, you'd best not miss Ninanji Temple.

Ninanji Temple is not far from Ryoanji Temple, the latter is the most representative abstractionism of "Dry Landscape" in Japan. In this rectangle stone garden, 5 distinctive larger rocks were arranged amidst a sweep of smooth pebbles which raked into linear patterns that facilitate meditation. It looked simple, abstract but mysterious, however it can bring us to an extraordinary visual beauty of graphic pattern.
As to "Dry Landscape", the pebbles and rocks were arranged as mountains and flowing water, considered as conception of nature in Zen temple; rock and pebble symbolized mountain and water, the former represented unshakable mountain, the latter was static and dynamic combination of sea. The "Dry Landscape" expressed great creation of mysterious nature to people.

Ryoanji Temple is a Rinzai Zen Buddist Temple, over the years, the only remaining Fame of Abbot witnessed the vicissitudes of history. Inside the Fame of Abbot, there are ink painting and calligraphy works which were created by the late Muromachi Painter - Soami, who was good at ink painting. "Dry Landscape" in the front yard, "Wet Ink-painting" in the back yard, with such a Zen poem of moods, I found here a rare place for meditating.

There is another attraction in courtyard of Ryoanji - "Mandarin Ducks Pond". In the period of Kamakura (1185 - 1333), it had another name called "Mirror-Shaped Pond", there is a legend about this "Mandarin Ducks Pond", a pair of mandarin ducks flew to the pond, a hunter shot at them with gun. Unfortunately, the female one fell into the pond, the male was hovering over and unwilling to leave until he exhausted himself and fell into the mountain. The hunter found him vomit blood to death. The hunter was in deep remorse and never expected they were so in love with each other. Hence he buried them near the pond, built a memorial temple for them. That's how the "Mandarin Ducks Pond" originated.

Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) - originally called Rokuonji(Deer Garden Temple),commonly known as Golden Pavilion because the pavilion was covered by gold. Although there are more than 20 world cultural heritages in Kyoto, Kinkakuji is the most important one among all of them. Kinkakuji is a 3-storey building and in close proximity to "Mirror Lake", the 1st storey continues imperial palace architectural style from Heian Period (794-1185), the 2nd storey is Samurai architectural style in Kamamura Period (1185-1333), the 3rd storey follows Tang Dynasty Buddhist Temple architectural design. Kinkakuji combines 3 different architectural styles , what a amazing and break-taking creation!

The admission ticket for Kinkakuji is not like traditional ticket which displays landmark of the scenic spots, but a Taoist sign-like paper with auspicious and blessed words on it. It's worthy of collection. As to Kinkakuji, my memory of childhood had been awaken, I still vaguely remembered the smart Ikkyu, meddlesome General Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, adorable Sayocyan and righteous Ninagawa Shiemon from the cartoon, everything appeared in my sight and felt so much missing my childhood.

Kinkakuji might be the destination for the well-known attractions for in the west part of Kyoto. We had followed the crowd, it's about time to go some unique places - Genkoan. It's small, serene and secluded, which matches with its atmosphere
Genkoan, the most particular feathers are 2 Zen windows, the circular "Window of Enlightment" and the rectangle "Window of Confusion", when you look through the "Window of Confusion", will you be lost in the 4 suffering like the 4 angles of the window? For all morals , birth is suffering, ageing is suffering, sickness is suffering, dying is suffering; look through the "Window of Enlightenment", will you comprehend the real meaning of life? Just a little thought, just a window in-between, the thinking of life might be entirely different.

Inside of the room was in silence, outside of the window was in disturbing. In between movement and peace, I barely could understand the mystery of life everything in such a short time. Perhaps at least it could offer me such quiet space to place my soul in the busy life. Meditating for a while, we only can have a calm and sensible mood to the past, present and future. The scenery outside was like suffering of birth, ageing, sickness and dying from human beings, like four seasons of reincarnation of nature, the cycle of nature continues, the cycle of life continues.
